At three o'clock (3:00a.m.), this morning, while they were all sleeping, Cyprus Police armed with "fire extinguishers", attacked the tents of "Kurdish Refugees" who have been protesting since May 17, 2010 in front of the European Commission in Nicosia.  They were protesting against a decision that was released by Cyprus authorities, that they will deport about a hundred Kurdish Refugees back to Syria.

There was extreme panic and fear amongst all demonstrators, especially the women and children as the uniformed men entered the interior of the camp.  After...Police then transferred them by buses and took them too many different places scattered all over Nicosia and some were thrown into prison.

There are now more than twenty people at the Larnica Airport, where they were placed in cages at the airport prison to wait for the plane to arrive for their immediate "deportation" and take them back to Syria.

We, at the Canadian-Kurdish Association for Human Rights, INC., "demand" that the Government of Cyprus and its people immediately release those refugees and the number of detainees they have in prison from their custody.  There are more than one hundred (100) people awaiting deportation at this time.

At the same time, we appeal to other International Organizations and from Amnesty International and the European Commission of Human Rights, and  Kurdish Organizations,  to move quickly to intervene and depend on the Cyprus Government to help save the lives of all those "protestors", women and children.

Certain "danger" awaits them all when they arrive back in Syria.  Security Services will "torture" them and may "kill" some of them too!  For some, their death is imminent.

Therefore...Cyprus would and will be accountable for the consequences of "all" the lives of these "refugees" in front of the International Community.
